Today, I wanted to introduce you to The Valley, a series of color photographs taken on porn film sets in the San Fernando Valley, California, by Larry Sultan. The project investigates the meaning of home and asks why the ideal of middle-class domesticity lends itself to this most curious form of cultural appropriation. I strongly suggest you go see the exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art if you're in the area.
